Martial Arts Demonstration

DEL MAR FAIR!!!

(Now the San Diego County Fair)

 

  Dear Martial Arts Students and Parents!

   It’s time to get ready for our annual demonstration at the DEL MAR FAIR!  We will perform selected

   Martial Arts movements for your belt level.  Most of the performances will be with 10 to 15 kids on

   stage at a time.

 

     WHEN & WHERE:  Our demonstration will be on  Saturday, June 21^st from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ralphs Infield Stage. Check in with your Instructor at the Stage at least 15 minutes prior to show time (at 6:15!!!) to prepare and line up for our performance. Please plan to be at the Fairgrounds much earlier!  Parking will take some time - also, it will take approximately 15 minutes to walk to the Infield Stage!     Parents please note: Once the performance has started, BOTH the adult chaperone and child must remain for the entire duration of the show (until 7:30)!

 

DIRECTIONS TO THE FAIR:  Take 5 - N to Del Mar, exit Via de la Valle, stay on Via de la Valle, one block past Jimmy Durante Drive.  Make Left into Solana Gate entrance (Look for big sign).  Keep parking pass visible. Check in at the Special Events Trailer.

 

GETTING YOUR PASS:  PLEASE turn in permission slip ASAP!!! Upon returning the attached permission slip TO your Instructor, each of you will be issued a confirmation card & a parking pass.  The confirmation card entitles one Martial Arts student & one adult chaperone to complimentary admission.  All other members of your party must have tickets to enter the fairgrounds.  Tickets available for purchase at the Special Events Trailer where you enter the fair using your free complimentary admission.

 

WHAT TO WEAR: Dress will be your Martial Arts Uniform.

 

PREPARING FOR THE DEL MAR FAIR (SPECIAL LESSONS!!): We have 1 HOUR  to give our demonstration, with a ½ hour to set up and get ready.  We are going to be able to perform a lot more forms and movements so to prepare for this, we will be having special “Del Mar Fair Preparation Lessons” on:  Saturday June 7^th and 14^th   from 2:00 to 3:30.  Please attend AT LEAST one of these lessons to help us ensure a smooth performance and fun time for everyone.   Forms/movements you will be performing will be posted in the practice room next to the “Loosen Up List” OR you may also sign up for a form/movement you would LIKE to do.

PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE TO THE FAIRGROUNDS EARLY.  YOUR PARKING PASS ENTITLES YOU TO ENTRANCE INTO THE SPECIAL EVENTS PARKING LOT, BUT IT WILL FILL UP!!!

PARENTS:  We need 8 volunteers to help us DURING the performance.  Volunteers will help stage the children in lines by belt, 2 parents to use our digital camera and camcorder to take pictures of the event, and general supervision while they wait for their turn to go on stage.  PLEASE indicate if you would like to volunteer to help us by checking here ¨ and an Instructor will contact you.  Or you may call us at (619) 582-1800.
