About
a year ago, I complained to my son about my lack of flexibility even though I
worked out on a rowing machine and did a lot of fast walking daily. I was sixty-two
years old at the time and had high blood pressure, ulcerative colitis and diabetes.
My son Ken recommended
the Allied Gardens School of Martial Arts where he had been attending classes
for a little over a year. My wife Marlene and I enrolled in the general training
program one year ago. After one year with the program, I use less insulin on the
days that I practice, my blood pressure is in the normal range, and my colitis
appears to be stabilized. Marlene
and I recently signed up for Black Belt training and made a personal commitment
to reach that goal. Our eight-year-old grandson Ethan attends and is at the Second
Section level. Our family is extremely impressed with the quality of the Instructors
and the instruction, and hope to be able to show our appreciation to the Instructors
by continuing to practice and improve our mental and physical health. Sincerely,
Norman Bartel August
