This
is the 5th martial arts school I've attended in my life, and I have trained for
about 25 years, so I have some perspective by which to recommend this school!
If you go to any martial arts school, the students will say that their training
improved their strength, flexibility, stamina, mental concentration, etc. etc.
While this is true, the degree to which these areas are improved can vary greatly
with each school, because schools differ in the quality of both the training and
the instructors. AGSMA is top notch in both areas. 
The
instructors are highly competent martial artists who know how to teach. This cannot
be said of all instructors in all schools-I've had all kinds. There are a lot
of good fighters who are good at winning competitions and have a lobby full of
trophy's, but they don't know how to teach. The instructors here have the patience
and attitude that is needed for easy learning. The quality of the training varies
from school to school, too, and this school offers great training programs. Here
you will learn the art of martial arts. Many schools are good, but they lack the
teaching of details that elevate basic fighting skills to an art form. The details
in training also results in much higher health benefits. There's a lot of focus
here on developing the body internally, besides the regular external development
found in any martial art or other sport. Because of some specific forms that we
do here, I rarely need to go to the chiropractor now. For the last 20 years until
I started here, I had to go 4 or more times per year and had many more neck problems,
but now my spine self-adjusts while practicing. I
also like the atmosphere of the school. It's not too formal and not too casual.
There are no egomaniacs in class. Everyone is very helpful and respectful. It
is a happy place to be and this place is very centering for me in my life. Besides
attending the adult classes, I've also seen the children's and family classes,
and they are absolutely phenomenal. I highly recommend all the programs!
